Overview

The ProMediaGear Variable Magic Friction Arm is an accessory for your accessories. Designed to work harmoniously with a whole slew of ProMediaGear products, the A12 works to not only attach them to your camera but also to direct them how you see fit.

The attachment accomplishes this in a myriad of ways. For starters, it has two 1/4"-20 threads (the industry standard) allowing you to connect the attachment to a great deal of complimentary camera systems. Furthermore, due to the friction based technology central to its design, it is capable of full 360-degree rotation and 90-degree pivot; thus, allowing you to extend and guide your attachments as necessity dictates.

Finally, regarding the extension of the A12, you can rest assured that your attachments are secure due to the toothed center locking joint that the product possesses, which not only ensures a more secure placement but also serves as a helpful visual marker of whether you have tightened the product too much or too little.

A12 magic arms

Bought two of these to try out to see if they could hold without sagging. Tested using camera and lens and large speedlight in awkward positions. Both held without any give. Just ordered more.

I needed a 'Magic Arm' and remembered that ProMediaGear makes them- and got one off B&H with some other stuff. Honestly I didn't even bother looking elsewhere or for something cheaper- I just want one that will work perfectly. PMG has a fantastic reputation for a reason. This arm has an impressive level of hold and stiffness. The inclusion of adapters is very welcome. Many different uses- small monitor, small lights, hold something in a specific position, etc- mount to just about anything if you attach to a mini super clamp or similar.

I do a lot of shooting from different angles, not just from tripods. Using brackets hanging from the the ceiling..etc. The A12 is just perfect, the build quality is great, strong, durable and I have no problem trusting this piece of hardware with any of my camera gear or equipment!
