Overview

The ProMediaGear Cold/Hot Shoe Mountable NATO Rail is a convenient adapter that allows you to attach accessories with 1/4"-20 and NATO rail mounts to your camera's hot/cold shoe mount.

It can be used on a hot or cold shoe, making it versatile for use on your camera, cage, or other supports. The rail can be positioned either horizontally or vertically in the shoe to accomodate accessories.

This rail is made of lightweight and durable black anodized aluminum. It is resistant to corrosion and designed to provide long-lasting service.

With a length of 3.5 inches or 2.5 inches, the NATO rail accommodates various accessories and includes four threaded mounting holes with anti-twist divots.

These holes can be used with optional articulating arms or other mounting options. To secure the NATO rail onto the hot/cold shoe, there is a knurled thumbwheel for easy locking.

Hot Shoe NATO rail VRNR4

A quality product, the knurled thumb-wheel (?), which you use to tighten the unit to the camera hot shoe is oversized. That is very nice as it allows you to easily and confidently attach it. But not too oversized such that it is in the way.
Customer support was exceptional, I needed the shorter length (it was available in 2.5 and 3.5 inch lengths), but they shipped the longer length in error. When I notified them they sent the correct length promptly at no charge and said “just keep the longer length as well”.

Mount for RDS

I purchased this item to mount a red dot sight to my camera for use with long lenses. It is very well made and would be perfect for it's intended use(flashes and NATO rails). For use with the Red Dot Sight I did have to use some mold-able plastic so it does not rotate at all when mounting and remounting to the hot shoe. I am very satisfied with the quality of the mount. would definitely recommend.
