Overview

The ProMediaGear PX6 6-inch Arca-Swiss Double Dovetail plate is made of T6061 aircraft-grade aluminum that is lightweight and durable. It has adjustable safety stops for any telephoto lens.

The safety stops can be adjusted depending on the lest of the lens foot. It prevents the foot from twisting while attached to the plate. This ensures a secure connection between the plate and the lens.

This plate has a 1/4"-20 mounting screw. The screw slides in the slotted channel so you can balance it while mounted on your tripod head.

Moreover, the PX6 has two quick-release strap options. The SS2 Strap port works with the ProMediaGear system while the QD Strap Port is compatible with other brands.

Good at first, then failed x2

When I first ordered and received my first of 2 QD plates, I have to say it was excellent, I much prefer carrying my camera and lens this way.
However, I have now had 2 plates that I use with a Kirk QD clip and they have both failed. I can guarantee that it is the plate and not the clip.
the QD port that sits in a hole moved over time on both plates (less than 12 month wear). firstly, I simply can not get my head around why the QD port would ne smaller than the hole it sits in (it is not flush at both top and bottom). In both instances, the port shifted down, which meant the QD clip ball bearings could not engage. PromeadiaGear Customer Service were good, offering to fix it if I sent it back, however living in the UK, its a long winded wait.
My solution was to tap the port back into place with a small hammer, I then placed a small metal washer in the 1-2 mm recess and then re-attached the plate to my lens foot.
This seems to resolve the issue and hopefully will stop the issue happening again.
Would I recommend the QD plate from ProMediaGear ? ... Yes I would, but PMG, make the port to the same dimensions of the hole in which it sits.
Unfortunately, I never realised what the issue was with my first plate and binned it ... its quite an easy fix.

Hi Brian,

Thank you for reaching out to us. We appreciate your feedback and apologize for the inconvenience you experienced with our QD strap systems. We acknowledge the variance issue you mentioned with the QD plates and the Kirk QD clip.

We are currently working on a new QD quick release plug that will address this problem. Rest assured, with the upcoming release, you won't face similar issues. Also your photos and feedback have been forwarded to our Engineering team for review.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused and appreciate your understanding. If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us.

Best regards,
Noel | PMG Customer Service

Cannot beat the workmanship.

High quality arca rail-style plate. Permanently mounted to my Nixon Z 400 f4.5 lens foot.
Easy and secure method to mount camera/lens to Promedia Katana Gimbal.
Like the numerical markings along the rail’s edge as well as the SS2 strap port.
